Landing Program attended at the Asia Innov@ 2007 that took place in Casa Asia, Barcelona

On 6th of October, Landing Barcelona Program attended to the seminar “Asia Innov@ 2007” which took place in Casa Asia, Barcelona.


The world economic outlook has shown that the investment in R&D is the main source of competitiveness and economical growth in developed societies. In order to avoid the duplication in the research plans and to join strengths, it is necessary to carry out cooperation and coordination R&D policies worldwide. Asia Innova 2007 will analyze the R&D policies in Asia with the purpose to offer a comparative vision of the different innovation plans and to support the development of joint investigation projects.


Casa Asia's chief objectives are to carry out actions and projects that promote greater awareness between the societies of Asia, the Pacific and Spain, and to enhance relations between these countries in economic, institutional, cultural and academic spheres. The leitmotiv underlying the creation of Casa Asia is: to inform and form in order to transform, as its ultimate objective, relations with Asia and the Pacific. Another objective mentioned in Casa Asia's Statutes is "to promote programs related to the new information technologies and publicize the activities of Casa Asia on the network". For any institution whose interests lie in international relations, the Internet plays an essential role in the Information Society.

Meeting with Institutional Delegation from Northern Romania (IASI)

Barcelona, 9th of October 2007


On 8th of October, Landing met an Institutional Delegation from Northern Romania (IASI). The purpose of the meeting was the introduction of 22@Barcelona and the Landing Program in views of future cooperation.

Moreover, on 4th of October, COPCA opened an industrial platform in Romania as a first step to land in east countries like Ukraine, Turkey and Russia.

Institutional Meeting between the Landing Partners to sign the Operative Agreement

On the 5th October took place the Technical Signature between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Essonne (CCIE) and the Essonne Economic Agency (AEE) with the Landing Program.

The director of the Parc La Salle, Josep M. Piqué, as a representative of the Landing Program, and the CEO of the Essonne Economic Agency, Gilles Rabin, and of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Essone, and the vice-president Jean Claude Chabin, signed an agreement of collaboration that will allow to Catalan companies land in four French platforms, at the same time that French companies will be able to internationalize with the Landing Program being located in the district 22@Barcelona.

More precisely, these four platforms of incubation that Essonne will provide to the Catalan companies through the Landing Program are : Genopole, biotechnological incubator devoted to the research and development of medical technologies; Orly International, basis of operations for international and local companies; Innov'valley, incubator located in a distinguished environment in R+D, and Hubtech 2:1, that represents the French office in Boston which will help to the companies in growth to introduce into the technological markets of US of the pharmaceutical, medical, optical and security sectors.
By the other part, the Landing Program , promoted by the Program Innovates of the UPC, La Salle and 22@Barcelona, will offer to the French companies spaces to land in the district of the innovation, that will have definite spaces in the building Media-TIC that is constructing "El Consorci de la Zona Franca".


Moreover, the night before the signature, the CCIE hosted the dinner with the presence of institutions from both territories (Consulates, Chambers of Commerce, La Caixa, Orly International, etc...).

Presentation of the Keiretsu Forum Spain

Yesterday morning, at 12:00 am, Landing attended to the presentation of the Keirestu Forum Spain.

Keiretsu Forum is an association founded on San Francisco (California, US) in September 2000, and at present account with more than 600 associated investors and 14 local implantations in US (Boise/Sun Valley, Belleveu/Eastside, Denver/Rockies, East Bay, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle/Northwest, Silicon Valley and Westlake Village/Happiness), China (Beijing), Spain (Barcelona) and United Kingdom (London).

Keiretsu Forum is an international association of investors "business angels" deprived, business leaders and of enterprising that it organizes itself as a source of capital to finance small and medium enterprises in growth. The members usually invert between 250m€ and 1,5M€ by operation, in an individual way or among several members.

It is not a fund. Keiretsu Forum does not invert directly, even its mission is to contact its members with the asset's requestor enterprises.

"Keiretsu" is a Japanese term that defines a set of societies affiliated and orientated to a common goal.
